I get what you are saying but cloning would be nothing more that a copy of a living being (Twin if you will) Is the act of Sex the only thing that would impart the person with a soal

If a person were to be cloned would there be no way for them to reach Heaven (or Hell for that matter) based on nothing more than the accident of there birth

What about people who use artificial insemination/in-vitro fertilization, it's the same process that begins cloning.

My personal opinion is the means by which the Person comes into being is does not determin wheather a soal is preasent and I am not aware of anything in the Bible that would exclude some people from haveing one.

That being the case I do not see why Cloneing should be Taboo (The population boom would/should not be an issue sine it would still require a woman to cary the baby to term) The one valid argument against reproductave cloneing would be if we ended up shallowing our gene pool with the same copy (not sure that would be a problem unless you could let folks donate/sell DNA for cloneing and everyone wants there own Jordan or who ever)

I agree with what you are saying. But I don't think that the shallowing the gene pool arguement has any validity because if you could select which genes to add back into the pool, then it could be considered an increase in diversity if the individual that was cloned had a set of genetic variants that were rare and these variants had a benefit to evolution as a whole. IMO
